Those rhododendrons were impressive, wish I had space to replicate a hedge like that! That will really be a colour punch, eh?
Astrid

Hello Alistair
Nice to hear from you. Only in nature can you get away with combining pink and orange…well, on second thought, maybe Myra had a point….:)
Astrid

Hi Indie
that is the neat thing about moving - you have new opportunities for gardening experiments! I look fwd to seeing yours.
AstridAstridhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208261869410640449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-32225169086112140282014-02-21T20:18:25.937-08:002014-02-21T20:18:25.937-08:00There are so many beautiful pink flowers! With my last house being red, I didn't have very many pink flowers for fear of clashing, and they were all carefully relegated to the backyard. With my new house, though, pastel colors are going in the front. There will now be a lot of pink!Indiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14004102653896371835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-90637992118500983892014-02-21T09:24:44.847-08:002014-02-21T09:24:44.847-08:00Astrid, it is hard to avoid pink if you like colou...Astrid, it is hard to avoid pink if you like colour in your garden. I have come across a few bloggers who just hate it. I never knew much about colour coordination, my wife pointed out how very wrong it was when I planted bright orange Crown Imperials in front of a pink Rhododendron which bloomed at the same time.Alistairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17104382970502166560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-59785645231497638822014-02-21T03:46:28.348-08:002014-02-21T03:46:28.348-08:00Lots of great pinks Astrid. It is easier to work with for one and works well into planting combinations.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00116583212813729057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-81985729525183260682014-02-20T19:29:44.153-08:002014-02-20T19:29:44.153-08:00Hi Nadezda

Have tried to grow them at my house but it's too windy and cold. I lost about 3 before I gave up.
AstridAstridhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208261869410640449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-54931907899370114932014-02-19T09:20:10.592-08:002014-02-19T09:20:10.592-08:00Astrid, stunning rhododendrons! Just like a magnolia - not a lot of bang for your buck but gorgeous for that short time. Wouldn't some of the gorgeous cherry trees do well in your sandy soil?
Astrid

Hi Lee
My brain is so ready for Spring (even just some warm weather!) but it just keeps on snowing….:(
AstridAstridhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17208261869410640449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560498250041584368.post-71731910520069086852014-02-18T07:09:33.760-08:002014-02-18T07:09:33.760-08:00Oh pink is such a lovely color in the garden.
