Here it is - May 15th! Another Garden Blogger's Bloom Day!!
What's blooming in my garden today? Lots of flowers and shrubs that usually bloom
2-3 weeks from now. We're early this year. Therefore so many areas are already very beautiful.
Enjoy!!
Nepeta x fassenii - Catmint - Frankie, my neighbour's cat, just loves it!!
Crabapple 'Profusion'
Ajuga 'Black Scallops'
Red Twig Dogwood
Solomon's Seal
Bleeding Hearts
Violets
Ornithogalum - Star of Bethlehem
Viburnum f. plicatum tomentosum 'Mariesii'
Viburnum opulus 'Snowball bush'
Tulip 'Queen of the Night' (looking more burgundy than black!)
Lilacs….mmmmmmm…the fragrance!!
Cerastium tomentosum (Snow-in-summer) Can be a bad spreader but I have it in an isolated spot.
Slender Deutzia - a lovely small bush that usually blooms in late May
One tulip 'Estella Rijnfeld' - there should have been at least 6. I guess the squirrels had 5 for lunch!

I love your garden, the Crabapple 'Profusion',bergenia are so nice!
Hi Nadezda
I was very worried about the crabapple last fall - it seemed all dried out and stressed ( we had a dry summer). But this spring it came back and bloomed beautifully so I am very happy!

Fabulous blooms and photos Astrid, I would be hard pushed to pick a favourite. The blooms on your Violet look much larger than those on our plants.
Thanks Alistair!
This is a glorious time of year, isn't it! I can hardly wait to see what you post next. Your plants are always unique and worth noting.

Astrid -- lovely mid-May blooms. It's great to take a few moments to absorb them all.
Hey Kevin!
Thx for the comment. Yes - the weather's been incredible here for a few weeks and the results of my hard work are beginning to show. But you're right - you do have to step back and enjoy it too. Maybe in July :)
BTW - I look fwd to your blog because it is so witty and creative. I always check to see if you've written something new!

Wow! You have a blooming Estella Rijnfeld. So it used to be five, but now only one is left. It's just too bad that the squirrels ate it. Well, you just have to live with it. Things like this happen once in a while. Anyway, you did a great job taking care of your flowers. They are so beautiful.

Hi Katy
Thx for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the Estella Rijnfeld. They are lovely in a vase with lilacs and bleeding hearts.
